I hail from Penicuik, but live in Edinburgh and got into stand-up purely by accident in 2002, and while I haven't done a huge number of gigs, performing in front of a live audience always provides a thrill.

I wouldn't be so aggressive as to say that, just because I can act (says who?), I can be a stand-up. It's a totally different discipline altogether, I'm not out to prove anything, but just to enjoy it.

You can't beat the buzz you get from the sound of laughter.
